Sinclair Residence is a large bungalow (4,300 sq. ft) built in 2003, set on a two acre lot, in the township of Metcalfe, on the outskirts of Ottawa.  The facility has large windows for maximum natural light, brightly decorated rooms, a spacious kitchen, and a large fenced backyard.   Each bedroom has patio doors which offer access to a large outdoor deck.  The 2 acre backyard has paved walkways through a park like setting.  This facility also has a large screened gazebo, a pool for summer recreation and physiotherapies, swing and climbing park and small barn for farmyard pets.  All children/young adults in the program are encouraged to participate in recreational activities, suited to their abilities.   Raised flower/vegetable beds and combination potting shed/greenhouse is also used in a work place training program. Overnight camping experiences are also offered regularly during the summer.

Sinclair Residence is situated approximately 25 minutes from all major Ottawa Hospitals including the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, providing a valuable resource for professional medical assessments, medical information and direction for staff training.  Also, the facility regularly liaises with the Ottawa Children’s Treatment Centre, the Rehabilitation Centre and its affiliates.

The children/young adult within our organization are part of a comprehensive, integrated school system, which provides access to special support services such as developmental specialists, speech therapists, nursing, physiotherapists, and nutritional consultants, both within the school setting and at the residence.  The residence also offers an individualized day-program for clients unable to attend school.
